Small

When Jake realized he may have been over feeding the cat it made him feel small.

This is my picture for Illustration Friday. The theme is small. Jake and his cat were drawn on a piece of multi-purpose copy paper and colored in Photoshop. When I was young my father took in a stray cat he found hanging around the pizza parlor he worked at. He was quite large. The cat not my father. Actually my father was also rather large but I'm talking about the cat. We named are large cat "Big Cat". Sometimes Big Cat would chase me through the house. He knew he was boss. I felt like Jake most of the time, small. Do you love my big cat? Will you leave some love for me?

  • As I'm on my way to Japan, I sit and wonder, contemplating your previous post on samurai and football and being imbibed with pre-trip oriental mysticism (or is that the drugs) as to who really is the great unknown? Is he Jake? Is he someone else? Could one make a purrban of this cat? Yes, it is the drugs.

  • Once upon a time I lived with a cat, he was big and orange too. He was top cat. Then came another human. Then me. Then the orange cat's sister. We didn't overfeed him, he bullied everyone else into that. We just gave him cat food. Little old ladies bought him whole fish and sheep. Your cat looks a lot like him. Love to you both.

  • Any cat over a certain size will want to eat you - yes, they have cute yellow eyes and will play with you first, but in the end they get hungry :). The warpo perspective works great! Nice sharp lines and bright colours and those yellow eyes leap out!
