Bad Art I Am Compelled To Share

Free

This is my Illustration Friday picture. The theme is free. The fingers, faces and curtains are the only things I didn't do with Photoshop. This is a picture of my stepbrother Bill and me when we were both twelve years old. We are watching my Mother and Step Dad Ed drive away. Ed was kind of an oppressive jerk so whenever Bill and I were left alone in the house we would wait until my parents left then we would do a little dance and sing this song.

Ed is gone, Ed is gone
That is why I sing this song
I'm free at last, I'm free, free, free
Tee hee, tee hee, I am free

Years later I found out my Mother often heard us singing as they left. I felt bad and was kind of embarrassed when she told me that. Although, when she finally divorced that bastard Ed I think she did a little dance and sang our song.

Ed is gone, Ed is gone

That is why I sing this song
I'm free at last, I'm free, free, free
Tee hee, tee hee, I am free

Do you love my song? Will you love me at least three times a week?

  • I'm sure many of us can relate to this. Not sure that we sang such a cute song tho.

    By Blogger Teri, at 09:00

  • Minimalist art at its best. I felt the same way when my mother's husband left--but I didn't have a cute song. Great job.

  • i used to sing a similar song when i got a devorce from my ex husban only it went something like ...

I'm gonna kill you one day
    i will make you pay
    i will love every miute
    of your dismemberment

    death to roy
    death to roy
    kill that boy
    time to destroy

  • You sure weren't feeling the love when Ed was around, but you're feeling it now! I love those peeking eyes, the hand holding back the curtain, and the lyrics. The fact that you felt bad when your mother told you she heard the song shows that you're a lover; not a fighter. Good job:>

    By Blogger carla, at 13:48

  • Oh great-I'll be singing that all night. This is quite funny in a good twisted way (emphasizing the "good" here). Really! Love

By Blogger Todd DeWolf, at 16:39

  • three times a week? hmmmm i was expecting more from a gangly guy like you...

oh...and you're the one with the blue eyes (before Ed heard your song and threw the tomato at your head).
