Phoenix
This is my picture for Illustration Friday the theme is phoenix. "Phoenix" was drawn on the back of, the January 1 page of my new "Get Fuzzy" desk calendar with my Gel-Roller. It is supposed to depict our new PC rising from the ashes of our old PC, which crashed about two weeks ago.
I'm really excited about the new PC, but it doesn't have any Photoshop software. All I can do right now is scan pictures and post them. It will probably be another month or two before I can afford some good art software.
Any suggestions?
Now, I'm off to answer the 1000 plus e-mails I missed while we had no computer and maybe start to catch up on answering all the comments on my own blog.
Happy New Year Loves!
Has your PC crashed lately? have you left any love lately?

Congrats on the new computer. Luckily, I have never experienced a computer crash. (knock on wood- you better not have jinxed me now!) At least I have my own computer guru, my hubby to help me when I have trouble.
You simply must try ArtRage! There's a free version, but the full version is just $19.95 and well worth it.
There is also a free-downloadable Photoshop wannabe called GIMP that's supposed to be good, but I've never used it. Love!

Your skull is on fire! Or is that a feather brain? I'm quite happy with viewing scans for the next couple of months knowing you are really excited about HP. Happy New Year Unknown! Love.

What's wrong with black and white drawings?
You could try a Stippling technique.
You could (assuming you are using Windows) try MSpaint.
Did your scanner come with imaging software?
You could certainly go totally 'analog' and use crayons, acrylics, gel-pens, markers, Play-doh, etc.
The posibilities are endless. Are you up to the challenge?
Love.

Great picture!
As for software in the past I've had photoshop, illustrator and painter - when it came to having to buy my own there was no question - only painter!
love for the new year!

check this out: http://www.gimp.org/
GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.

There are some means of getting Photoshop CS2 which is not exactly legal if you know what I mean...

Pixia is free and pretty easy to use with most of the standard features... it would work fine with what you use it for, really nice color picker and magnifier set-up(for cleaning up those scans). D/L the english version. Great author support is a +
Real-Draw Pro for $55 is a real bargain, awesome program for the price. D/L the 30 day trial and see for yourself...
New love for the New Year!

Actualleeeeeeeeeeeeee, UPS broke my computer. That was back around the beginning of January, and only now am I getting resolution.
Someone high up at UPS has taken matters into her hands, and I'm told I will be receiving the money from insurance (I could only afford 500.) in the next 5 to 7 business days.
I hope it's enough to repair my pooter, cuz I miss being on it whenever I wanted.
