Bad Art I Am Compelled To Share

Saturday, November 05, 2005

This is my picture for Illustration Friday. I'm getting a lot of mileage out of this picture. I've used it in three different projects now. Originally it was drawn with pastel crayons. Then I fiddled with it in photoshop and added a moon. To get the full emotional impact from this picture, please view the illustration with your eyes closed.

comment in haiku

that is the challenge today
can you handle it

Will you leave some love?

  • If you don't want to comment in haiku, just leave some normal love. I wont mind.

By Blogger The Unknown, at 00:30

  • I am not able
To leave what is normal love
    But handle you love

    time warped floating thru shadows
    moonlight turns to dust

tear rough bark on winter nights
    climb trees of all heights

Beijos)

    Love :-)

  • slowly passing by
    and giving radiant light
    would it stay or stopped
    for sometime....
    darkness is for the night
    wherein i won't beseen
    in this crowded and
    shaded areas of the forest.

    By Blogger isay, at 04:06

  • Day becomes night
The moon is hung up high
    Time to crawl under
    the star filled sky

Ended up more like a poem. Great illo all the same.

  • i want to explode
    as i kiss my computer
    my love knows no bounds

    By Blogger Catnapping, at 07:14

  • Wow! said Didrooglie
Whose head was blown off by this
    The Unknown: you rock!

Oh -- geeez. I just realised that those are trees, not mushroom clouds. It doesn't matter -- you still rock. :) love

    By Blogger andrea, at 07:41

    comments are my love
is that normal I wont say
    my pants are now wet

    string of stars
    punting day and night bah
    wallet is empty

    excellent haiku
    it escapes from inside you
    catch it in a bag

    claw out my eyeball
    chewy center no filling
    that is a rip off
    love (vomit)

  • maria antunes: Obrigado para o desafio. Eu não sou nenhum bom na poesia tampouco. Eu estou contente você encontrei a ilustração suficientemente interessar e agradecimentos para os beijos.
    love :-)

    a lovely poem
    tears of joy are forming
    snot is on my lip

    your words blessing me
my soul really could use all
    the help it can get

    shocking that could be
your lips so near the outlet
    or unplug it first

    mushroom clouds are
    great idea but not mine
    next time it could be

By Blogger The Unknown, at 02:12

  • teri c:
    thank you to teri
always a kind word or two
    so you are too easy

    your namesake this be
you smell some funk it is just
    my stinky haiku

    mistakes are fun
    unless you are a bleeder
    call a doctor now

    alina chau:
    what is a testure
    not in my dictionary
    I'm a smartass

    dark love can be rich
    is just like the chocolate
    melts in your mouth

    smoking hurts my eyes
    of course there's mary jane
    eyes getting all red

By Blogger The Unknown, at 02:31

  • Spooky trees--very nice.

By Blogger Tony Sarrecchia, at 07:37

  • There was an old man from haiku
Who couldn't speak much like you
So he said it in ways
    That sounded like praise
For unusually good bad art - thank you

    I smell of bad meat

    comments left by caroline
are like a ray of sunshine
    praise for bad art
    know from the start
    the pleasure is all mine

    alison ashwell:
    god is mysterious
he moves in strange ways but then
    stephen hawking too

    I ate mushrooms once
    it was too psychedelic
    so my head fell off

    you have super taste
    an excellent eye for art
    forgot your glasses

and besides, its' a beauty, this re- and reused picture of yours... :)

    By Blogger vfm4, at 03:30

  • That's a cool picture, those trees, I like them!

I agree with your girlfriend about the other one, though you did a fantastic job on the paper. I'd say you must have too much time on your hands, but that would be mean, LOL! (making paper?)

Those trees and the moon are great though. :-)

  • vfm4:
    recycling is fun
    old things become new again
    now where is the cat

    too much time is bad
    the devil loves idle hands
    Satan likes to knit

By Blogger The Unknown, at 02:23

  • Sorry i can't do haiku's
but I love how you did your trees ;)

    By Blogger Toni, at 06:50

  • Dearest Unknown,

No hiaku for you but how about a silly limerick?

There once was an artist unknown
    who spent one night alone
    drawing tall dark trees
    while scratching his fleas
because he let too many cats in his home.

    With much Love,

    By Blogger Perriette, at 07:04

  • Haikus I dislike
although for you i will try
    To leave haiku love.

oh...and i LOVE the chalk-crayon tree picture. i think it's my favorite so far.

By Blogger Hero's Cousin, at 07:35

  • Hello my red hot lover, I'm so disappointed that this is late in getting to you, but better late than never. I hope you like it.

This is from my haiku site...

    Nightsounds like music
are wrapped up in humid air
    you leave me breathless

This haiku came to me one night while sitting on my yard swing. The night was so hot and humid I could hardly breathe and the katydids were making their own kind of music which was almost deafening. They would all get together making their shrill sounds, then all of the sudden they would just stop, total silence, then they'd start once again, sounding like nature's own concert.

    Love as always,

    By Blogger Sandy, at 16:13

  • haiku sounds to me
    like mental patient rambling
    and true love to you

aaaah...such a masterpiece. I'm sure my college english professors are so proud right now. Yes, well anyway, this friendly little post is just to let you know that you have been declared the "winner" of my halloween prank...if you'd like to claim your "prize" (a whole book of my haiku?), send your address to my email (on my blog). toodles...

By Blogger The Crafty-Girl™, at 22:37

  • I really like this picture. Good job!

    By Blogger David, at 03:53

  • toni kelly:
    don't or you wont try
there is no try only do
    I think I am Yoda

a limerick is fine with me
it's love I want you see
    If it's not a haiku
    at least it's from you
fleas? I got them from thee

    hero's cousin:
    favorite so far
music to my ears and eyes
    now I must vomit

    you haiku master
better by far than mine are
    I have broke my pen
(thanks for the link, but the link dosn't work . :-()

    crafty girl:
    a prize for me wow
    I never win anything
    oh oops now do

    you don't want to play
too bad that's OK for you
    but I have a job

By Blogger The Unknown, at 12:16

  • Wow! Unusual piece there. Pastels. Now, that is an unfamiliar medium for me. How long did it take you to do that?

By Blogger Chuang Shyue Chou, at 17:26

  • Simple but effective, and it works nearly as well upside down!

By Blogger Ian T., at 23:42

  • It's deceptively simple. But when I look at the tree trunks, they have depth and character which you've caught with few lines and subtle shading. Really impressive, and easy to overlook. Nicely done!

    By Blogger Aravis, at 23:54

  • Hi!very beautiful!!

    By Blogger manomecchi, at 07:24

  • chuang shyue chou:
    it took few minute
    photoshop did all the work
    I am really lazy

    ian t:
    upside down is cool
I should have drawn a mirror
    your idea was better

    thank you aravis
a keen eye you sure must have
    I poke my eyes ouch

    Hi! to you there too
