One Sick Puppycat

My good friend, Pepe (Puppycat, Peppers, Pepperoncini, Mexi-Pep, Velvet Ears, Pink Nose, Master Chef, Biscuit Maker, Flatters, Big Mouth, Girth, Butter Head, Butters) is sick. He is sitting in the Pet Hospital under observation. He apparently has some sort of urinary thing, and we apparently caught it in time, so it doesn't appear to be too serious, but we won't know anything for sure until around 6:00pm.

Needless to say I'm worried and not really getting anything done.

Please send out some good thoughts for my furry friend.

UPDATE I 6:25pm:
Pepe has to stay overnight for observation and they had to insert a catheter. We won't know anymore until tomorrow afternoon.

UPDATE II 8:00pm: Pepe's blood tests came back and all that looks good. No kidney problems but, he did have some blockage in his urinary tract and will have to stay in the hospital for a few days.

UPDATE III Tue. 3:30pm: The doctor called and said Pepe has been passing clear urine for most of the day. They're going to take the catheter out tomorrow morning and Pepe should be home by tomorrow night.

UPDATE IV Wed. 12:20pm: The doctor has removed the catheter but, now Pepe has some mucus build up in his urinary tract. They are going to try massaging it out. They may have to sedate Pepe because he's getting grumpy. I don't blame him. I would be grumpy too. Now, we don't know if he'll be home tonight or not.

UPDATE V Wed. 2:10pm: Good news. Pepe voided the mucus on his own so he didn't need to be sedated. If he continues to produce clean urine, we will be able to pick him up tonight. I will know more around 5:30.

UPDATE VI Wed. 5:30pm: The vet called and said Pepe is doing much better. I'm going to go pick him up at 6:00.

Do you have a lot of nicknames for your close friends? Do you want to leave Pepe some love?

  • Many good and healthy thoughts are being sent to your Pepe. My dog Foster (Scooter, Boodle-E-Boo, Love Puppy, Muffin Cup)just got over a urinary tract infection herself. She's had about five of them in the last few years. Hopefully Puppycat Peppers Butter Head will be back on his four feet soon.
