Stack the Cat

There'’s a game I like to play with Percy. The game is called Stack the Cat. I start by placing a newspaper over Percy (He loves the newspaper tent.); then I see how many different objects I can put on top of the cat before he moves. Percy gives me a funny look whenever we play, but secretly I think he likes it.

I set a new record today and thought I would celebrate by drawing a picture of it. The new record was achieved by making the newspaper tent then adding a small pizza box, a water bottle, a book by Jim Butcher, a roll of tape, a racquet-ball, a TV remote, a rubber ducky and a pair of chopsticks on top.

See how happy he looks? I guess it'’s better than dressing him up in silly clothes.

"“Stack the Cat"” was dawn on a scrap piece of multi-purpose copy paper with my Gel-Roller that I recently refilled with ink then colored in Photoshop.

Do you play games with your pets? Do you love me?

  • Hey, I think your art is inspired... I really, really get a big kick out of it... it's you ideas that come through. We have some stacked cat moments here too, action figures are great pieces to use. I read the things you wrote about your father and I am sorry he is gone. I lost my dad when I was 15 (a long time ago) but it is a thing that is hard to describe without living it. Lead on!

  • scarecrow: Heh, heh.
The other cat likes to play let me sniff that coffee cup even though I hate coffee and it's always coffee in that cup but I'm going to smell it anyway in the hopes that some day that cup will be filled with tuna.

  • This drawing made me smile -- especially the large version. :)

  • Glad somebody tipped you off already to stuffonmycat.com as I was going to do it. Shara will tolerate me sprawling on top of her, pretty much, but nothing else, except the occasional remote control. I guess I don't count as a foreign object, as I'm her food source, and she knows it!
Either that, or she figures if she can sleep on me, I can also sleep on her. I think that's fair too.
