Speed

This is my picture for Illustration Friday, the theme is speed. "Speed" was drawn on the back of a list of things I'm supposed to get done today. Because of my list I decided to use speed as the theme as well as my drawing technique. So, I drew the illustration in under a minute then spent two minutes coloring the image in Photoshop.

In the future fast food will be genetically altered to run away. This will help to fight obesity in America.

There you have it. My speedy, speed illustration.

How fast can you leave some love?

67 Comments:

  • How's #1 for fast love! Love the fast food take on this. Although, sometimes it is not that fast, especially at lunch time in Northern Virginia. Much love!

    By Blogger Lou, at 16:11

  • Double meaning: Of course there's the whole "fast food" take (which is good), but I do believe that fast food gets its name, not from the speed that it is prepared, but the speed at which it passes through our system /:-P

    By Blogger Unknown, at 16:43

  • Well...#4's pretty fast for love, too......love

    By Blogger Janet, at 17:13

  • You can do this in few minutes? Amazing! Love the drawing and the message.

    By Anonymous Anonymous, at 00:17

  • What a great picture! I giggled out loud at the "fast food". Too bad I'm a vegetarian, or I'd grabbed myself some fast food when I go downtown today. But then again, I enjoyed your fast food much better anyway :)

    By Anonymous Anonymous, at 02:53

  • HAHAHA! No matter how fast you run, I'm GOING TO EAT YOU!

    By Blogger rinaz, at 03:00

  • i am the slowest one as usual. they don't have to run from me. it seems like ages since i had last tasted them.

By Blogger isay , at 03:02

  • Hahaaha- great idea/illustration!
Looks like McD's with the red fry box? The fries that McD's claimed were "vegetarian" were revealed to contain BEEF FLAVORING! Greasy corporate ethics.

    By Blogger AndyDoodler, at 08:00

  • The message is a good one. Next you should post photos of sushi and other slow food saying 'eat me'.

    love

    By Blogger andrea, at 08:22

  • Speedy junk food might be a good idea, to get them you should run fast and burn calories before eating. LOL

    By Blogger Katili, at 01:12

  • mmmm. So what did you have for lunch on this day? Tofu?

    Love

By Blogger Joy Eliz, at 04:14

    By Blogger Heartful, at 11:32

  • Really fast food, it's so funny !!

    By Blogger Rowantree, at 12:37

  • I think I could eat them a lot faster than you drew them, and wow, you were fast! Too funny!

    By Blogger HARDWAX, at 12:46

  • paula: Thanks. Now if I could just learn to take my time.
    love

carra: Yeah, me too (vegan). Although, they are getting a lot better at making vegan fast food and even that is still horrible for you.
    love

marina: Yep. There is always someone faster. :-)
    love

isay: Slow is a good speed. You notice more. :-)
    love

scarecrow: Ahh yes... I remember those. It was like a little candy parade and the popcorn was the leader.
Now when you say "Babe" do you mean a significant other or Babe the pig. Because if it's Babe the pig that would be a little sad to go have bugers with him and then ask how his mother is. I guess it's OK as long as it's not a bacon cheesburger. That would be just wrong.

Like a pig pulling a cart load of sausages. I'm drawing my own conclusions.
    love

andydoodler: Well, what's a little beef fat among friends. Pretty gross. :-)
    love

andrea: Ha! Yeah, except for the sushi. I love the little fishes of the sea too.

I once had a beef tounge burger.
    love

a nice day out: actually you would get the opposite. :-)
    Thanks Love.
    love

    katili: Exactly! :-)
    love

joy eliz: NO. I had a no cheese, vegan pizza. I know, I know a pizza without cheese is just toast with sauce, but you have never had my special homemade vegan pizza! :-)
    love

    toni kelly: Ha! :-)
    love

    andrea: Thanks!
    love

    caroline: :-)
    love

tammy hanna: Only a few years in the future Love.

  • I like how you put fast food as speed!! Clever you are!

By Blogger Tongue in Cheek Antiques, at 02:19

  • That is a very determined lunch combo. Drawing is fabulous, and the genetically modified running food bit you wrote is hilarious! Beauty!

    By Blogger Dan, at 06:21

  • I do love your humor...this food is very fast indeed...I see you're vegan, which means if you were to eat this fast food (I am assuming it's a hamburger and lard-fried french fries), you'd probably get a bad case of the runs... Well, they're safe from me too! I'll take a nice, slow salad any day:> Love:>

    By Blogger carla, at 08:52

  • I love how the burger is ahead of the fries. I always thought a burger could out pace a medium fry. Love the two legged hop run the burger is employing to gain maximum forward velocity. But no matter how fast those dudes run I am always able to catch them. Love the blue background too!

By Blogger LARGE ART, at 10:29

  • HE ! HE!! THis is funny!! Love the running fooooD!!

    By Blogger Unknown, at 11:05

  • Either the food needs to run or America does! Great illo!
    Love!

  • Love it. Great take on the concept word. I beleive one of McDonald's first character was a guy with a bun head named Speedy. I remember years ago receiving a Speedy mug for something I did when I worked at McDonald's.
